3/28/2024 0 Comments Time gal rom![]() Color me surprised: This is one interactive movie I like. Glad you’ve hit a run of good LD games Taylor. Each level is divided up into different time periods, which based off my playthroughs of the game, appear in a random order. Levels can be played in the sequence of the arcade, in the order they appeared in the Sega conversion, or in random order. Time Gal lacks the mirrored sequences of Road Prosecutor, but adds a couple of its own little twists to make things interesting. You can choose either normal or extended death sequences. There is also quite a bit of replay value in Time Gal: There are a number difficulty levels you can try (easy, normal, hard, very hard, insane and anime mode). ![]() It is a constant stream of explosions and screaming, which is surprisingly refreshing when I think about how tedious expository dialogue cinematics in story-heavy modern games sometimes can be. It feels like they edited material from a long-running anime series and only used action scenes, completely ignoring the story. Each one is set in a different time zone, with new enemies attacking. Time Gal is nonstop action without almost no pause between levels. I would even say it is as playable as quick time based sequences in modern video games. ![]() Compared to games like Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, this Japanese laserdisc classic is actually playable because you get onscreen indicators which button you are supposed to press. An early interactive movie, ported to the Amiga more than 30 years after its original release.
